We’ve designed the Hampden to be guaranteed gape-free thanks to a clever faux button placket and a pullover design with a comfortable elastic back waistband.

Meet the Hampden Dress

Breeze into summer with the Hampden Dress! Designed for curves, comfort, and style, the Hampden features:

Bust-friendly fit with princess seams and cup sizes C-H
Zero gaping thanks to a faux button placket (and no buttonholes to sew!)
Elasticated back waistband for all-day comfort
Curved neckline with a neckline facing
Short sleeves with a full bicep option in sizes 12-32, or swap in the Holyoke’s sleeveless bodice
Knee-length skirt, or swap in the Holyoke’s maxi-length skirt
Roomy patch pockets to hold all your stuff, or swap in the Holyoke’s inseam pockets

This pattern is rated advanced beginner, and you can sew your Hampden with confidence thanks to our free step-by-step video sewalong!

The Hampden is designed for light- to mid-weight woven fabric such as cotton lawn, linen, or rayon. Use drapey fabrics for a flowy look or firmer fabrics for a more structured result.
