Hello funsters! Well, coat-making is coming along apace – many seams have been sewn, in anticipation of my new gravity feed iron being installed. Which, thanks to an old Hungarian Ron Swanson-a-like, was done this evening.. EXCITEMENT! This weekend, THE STEAM WILL BE UNLEASHED.
In the meantime, I made another stripy Renfrew, which need to be photographed at some point.
And, I got my new 110 Creations: A Sewist’s Notebook in the post! I’d read about this in a few places including Sewaholic and Lladybird, and given that my head is always overflowing with ideas I thought it would be great for me. Not to mention, that I (shhh) actually quite enjoy making lists and filling in forms. I know, I know. What can I say.
The book is laminated, spiral bound and sturdy, which is great for a printed to order product:
And here’s the main point! In addition to some great index pages for cataloguing your patterns, measurements, needle changes etc, the majority of the book is for projects. I promptly spent half the evening cutting swatches from my stash and filling in the pages…
A Chambray Peggy inspired by Mary!
A StyleArc demi drape top, blatantly copying Gorgeous Fabrics!
And another StyleArc project (never made one before…) using a fun jersey I got at John Lewis at Christmas
There are many other projects in there, but I think the challenge is to balance planning with spontaneous inspired excitement.. much like life.
I shall leave you on that profound note.
I love getting a peek at your notebook! I’m a list-maker too 🙂 But mine are much less elegant.
Hehe, well this is my first go, with that whole “new notebook” vibe going on… It’ll be random scrawls and ink blots before long 🙂
I bought mine too. It is great fun. Enjoy
I’ve got a birthday next week and hope somebody took the hint and get me one of those books. 🙂
HINT HINT!
I shall leave you on that profound note.
You are a deep thinker.
I want one of those books too.
