Meet your new favorite stretch jeans sewing pattern: the Exeter Wide-Leg Jeans! Get yours when you join Cashmerette Club today.

I’m definitely not a dedicated follower of fashion: just because Milan says shredded asymmetrical tunics are in, I’m not buying. But when a style is on trend AND it’s eminently wearable? Sign me up!

And so I’m thrilled to introduce the Exeter Jeans: your new wide-leg stretch jeans that go with everything in your wardrobe and are totally “in”. The leg shape, front patch pockets, and wide waistband with double buttons are what make them current—though if you’re not so keen on those quirky front pockets? Leave them off, I won’t get mad!

And of course you’ve got the usual Cashmerette attention to fit: standard and full bum back leg pieces, a contoured waistband for zero gaping, and double back darts for a delightful fit.

The Exeters pair with practically anything, so whether you throw on a graphic tee and white sneakers, a printed silk blouse, or even whatever extremely-trending-asymmetric-top is going wild on TikTok right now, well, you’ll have an outfit in no time.

More From the Club This Month

Petite bodies can vary greatly, but if you’re petite, you’ll likely need to shorten a typical sewing pattern in one or more places. This month’s new Fitting University lesson is all about making petite adjustments to help you know where to remove that length — not just at the hem, but in the specific areas that match your unique proportions.

Then it’s time for another live Fit Clinic! Join me on Wednesday, Sept 30th at 12pm EDT (9am PDT, 5pm BST, Oct 1 @ 2am AEST) and I’ll help you troubleshoot your fit dilemmas in real time. (For the best feedback, send your photos and questions ahead of time to club@cashmerette.com.)

I’ve got to be honest: the first time I wore my Exeters, my 7-year-old asked why I had my jeans on backwards 😂 But this is indeed the fashion! And, if you’re not looking for that look, just leave those front pockets off and enjoy your cool new wide-leg jeans without the optical illusion.
