The Duxbury Dress has made its debut! With its unique knit-and-woven combination, the Duxbury is practically begging to be made again and again. Our makers took that invitation and ran with it, combining bold Ankara prints with solid knits, hacking in extra tiers, swapping bodices, and more. Read on to get inspired to sew your Duxbury!

The Duxbury Dress is your new casual fave, with the comfort and look of a t-shirt and skirt, but the easy wearability of a one-and-done dress. The fitted knit bodice has waist darts and cup sizes C-H for a fit that works with your curves, while the gathered woven skirt with pockets falls below the knee for a relaxed everyday silhouette. Choose between two necklines (a classic jewel or a softly scooped U) and sleeveless or elbow-length sleeves to suit the season. Or mix and match with any of the patterns in the Grafton line for over 500 additional combinations!
Courtney’s Duxbury Dress
Courtney made the Duxbury Dress her ultimate summer workhorse with a sleeveless bamboo lycra bodice and a lightweight Indian cotton blockprint skirt. She styled it into a few different looks alone: with a cardigan, with a lightweight denim overshirt and crossbody bag, and with an oversized bag.
Courtney made a size 20 G/H cup at the shoulders graded to between a size 30 and 32 at the waist and hip. She also lengthened the bodice by 1.5″ and the skirt by 6″ (15 cm) and deepened the hem. Her measurements are 44.5″ (113 cm) high bust, 52.5″ (133 cm) full bust, 50.5″ (128 cm) waist, and 61.5″ (156 cm) hip, and she is 5’9″.

Shereé’s Duxbury Dress
Shereé sewed an adorable Duxbury in a hot pink scuba knit bodice paired with a vibrant cotton skirt. She’s already dreaming up her next version in a cotton knit with a breezy cotton voile skirt.
Shereé made a size 8 C/D cup and her measurements are 34″ (86 cm) high bust, 36.5″ (93 cm) full bust, 31″ (79 cm) waist, and 37.5″ (95 cm) hip.

Elisa’s Duxbury Dress
For her Duxbury, Elisa used a navy blue midweight cotton jersey for the bodice and a striking blue and pink Ankara cotton for the skirt. She’s planning to style it with a denim jacket and sneakers for daytime, or swap in sandals and a cropped jacket to dress it up.
Elisa made a size 16 C/D and shortened the skirt by 4″ (10 cm) so the hem falls just below her knees. Her measurements are 41″ (104 cm) high bust, 44″ (112 cm) full bust, 38″ (97 cm) waist, and 40″ (102 cm) hip.

Tamiqua’s Duxbury Dress
For her Duxbury, Tamiqua paired a rib knit bodice with a cotton sateen skirt, and she styled it with a gold skinny belt and gold strappy sandals for a chic look. She found it to be an quick and easy sew—from start to finish in under two hours.
Tamiqua made a size 14 C/D and her measurements are 41″ (104 cm) high bust, 43″ (109 cm) full bust, 36″ (91 cm) waist, and 47″ (119 cm) hip.

Lizzie’s Duxbury Dress
Now for something a little different! Lizzie used deadstock ITY in a gorgeous blue mosaic print for an all-knit dress by pairing the Duxbury’s sleeved bodice with the Dewey Dress‘s skirt. It’s the perfect dress for her upcoming holiday to Corfu, and she’ll pair it with wedges in tavernas and a glass of wine, or barefoot on the beach.
Lizzie made a size 22 G/H cup, graded to a size 26 waist and 32 hip. Her measurements are 47″ (119 cm) high bust, 53″ (135 cm) full bust, 46″ (117 cm) waist, and 60″ (152 cm) hip.
Kaysi’s Duxbury Dress
And for something even more different, Kaysi totally transformed her Duxbury by pairing the Irving Dress‘s bodice with the Duxbury’s woven skirt, and hacking the skirt to have tiers! She used stretch modal jersey for the bodice and a cotton seersucker for the skirt for a gorgeous two-tone look.
Kaysi made a size 26 E/F, graded to a size 32 waist. Her measurements are 51″ (130 cm) high bust, 55″ (140 cm) full bust, 51″ (130 cm) waist, and 56″ (142 cm) hip.

DeJanee’s Duxbury Dress
DeJanee also hacked her Duxbury to have tiers, and swapped out the bodice for the Grafton Dress‘s square neck bodice. She used a pointe fabric for the bodice and an Ankara print for the skirt, and added elastic at the waistline to give herself more waist definition.
DeJanee made a size 10 E/F and her measurements are 34″ (86 cm) high bust, 38″ (97 cm) full bust, 29″ (74 cm) waist, and 42″ (107 cm) hip.
