It’s the sports bra breakthrough you’ve been waiting for. Introducing our very first sports bra pattern, the Somerville Sports Bra. Add it to your bra collection today!

For too long, sports bras have been a menace for those of us with big boobs. Want good support? You’re going to be compressed until you can’t breathe. Not ideal. Want to feel comfortable? Then you might just have to deal with a lot of painful jiggling.
Well, at Cashmerette we believe people with big boobs deserve to work out comfortably. We shouldn’t have to choose between breathing freely and feeling supported, or worse, skip activities altogether because nothing fits right.
That’s exactly why I’m thrilled to introduce the Somerville Sports Bra! This isn’t just another sports bra pattern—it’s an underwired bra designed by industry experts, available in 120 sizes from 28C to 54J. With a 4 piece cup, front zip opening, and two back options, finally there’s a sports bra sewing pattern that fits full busts without compromise.

A sports bra that’s uniquely yours
One of our favorite things about bra making is having the creative freedom to choose fabrics that fit your personal style—especially when the options in ready-to-wear are so limited in larger cup sizes. The Somerville is designed for non-stretch woven fabrics such as cotton or bra fabric such as duoplex (but there should be some “give” when pulled on the bias). You’ll also need lining, powermesh, and several notions like a zipper, bra elastic, and underwires. (See the full supply list here.)
Sourcing bra-making supplies can be a challenge, but we’ve made sourcing materials for your first Somerville beyond simple! We’ve once again partnered up with specialist bra supply stores around the world to bring you gorgeous Somerville kits. These kits are designed specifically for the Somerville (pattern not included in kits) and are sold and shipped by the shops from their websites.

Fantastic fit awaits you!
Every body is unique in its own way, meaning a strapless bra will fit differently depending on who’s wearing it. Our free “Sew a Bra That Fits” bra fitting ebook (included with the Somerville pattern) walks you through an abundance of custom adjustments to help you discover the right fit with your Somerville.
This isn’t just another bra pattern—it’s a breakthrough for big-boob support!

The Somerville Sports Bra is available now in the Cashmerette Collection—no subscription required, just expert engineering in 120 sizes ready whenever you are.
