Let’s take a look at these fabulous vests!

Martha’s Matching Tweed Set

Martha created a gorgeous tweed ensemble by pairing her Hartwell Vest with matching bottoms. She made her vest in a size 22 C/D graded to 30 hips, and her measurements are 46″/117cm high bust, 50″/127cm full bust, 47″/119cm waist, and 60″/152cm hips.

What makes her version special is how beautifully the tweed fabric works with this structured pattern. The coordinated set creates a polished, put-together look that can be dressed up or down.

Raquel’s Leopard Print Brocade

Raquel turned her Hartwell into a statement piece using a black and white leopard print brocade—and it looks fantastic with a matching jacket! She made her vest in a size 12 C/D, and her measurements are 34″/86cm high bust, 36.5″/93cm full bust, 36″/91cm waist, and 44″/112cm hips.

Raquel shares that making her first welt pocket was a highlight: “I liked making my first welt pocket. The directions were easy to follow.”

Bri’s Reclaimed Denim Rendition

Bri took two pairs of vintage jeans that were languishing in her closet and turned them into this adorable cropped denim vest! She made her Hartwell in a size 14 E/F and shortened it by 2.5″/6 cm, and her measurements are 38.5″/98cm high bust, 43″/109cm full bust, 34″/86cm waist, and 43″/109cm hips.

There are so many ways to wear a cropped waistcoat! As Bri tells us, “I’ve been having so much fun playing dress up—wearing it as a top with trousers, over dresses or as a layering piece over a tee.”

Shelley’s Black Linen Edition

Shelley created a versatile black linen Hartwell with a satin lining, with large buttons that stand out beautifully against the black fabric. She made a size 26C/D graded to 30 at hips, and her measurements are 51″/130cm high bust, 54″/137cm full bust, 58″/147cm waist, and 60″/152cm hips.

Shelley’s pro tip when making your Hartwell: “Label all your pieces and mark the right side of your fabric with some chalk, especially when working with linen fabrics.”

Suzy’s Luxe Silk-Cotton Blend

Suzy crafted her Hartwell in a luxurious silk-cotton blend fabric. She made a 6 C/D and her measurements are 33.5″/85cm high bust, 35″/90cm full bust, 28″/72cm waist, and 38″/96cm hips.

Suzy particularly appreciates the high armscye design and loves how the fabric’s subtle sheen elevates the whole garment. She plans to style it with colorful shirts in cooler weather, and with just a tee or on its own with linen trousers in summer.

Her plaid version showcases the pattern’s clean lines and tailored silhouette, and the pointed hem was Sarah’s favorite construction detail.
