Vintage styles can be so cute, but they rarely come in a wide range of sizes – let alone cup sizes! – so this month we’re delighted to introduce you to the Swanton Blouse, September’s Cashmerette Club pattern.
The Swanton is a retro-style blouse with lots of mix-and-match vintage features, as well as curve friendly princess seams in cup sizes C – H which means no gaping, guaranteed. And as a bonus, you can also use the two Vernon Shirt sleeves with the Swanton for even more options. Whether you want a full-on vintage look, or a chic classic blouse, the Swanton is calling your name!
You can get the Swanton Blouse for as little as $9 USD when you join the Club today
The Swanton Blouse comes in sizes 0 – 32, and cup sizes C – H, and it’s exclusively available to Cashmerette Club members. Not a member yet? You can join today on our monthly or yearly plan – learn more by clicking the button below.

Meet the Swanton Blouse
The Swanton features princess seams in cup sizes C – H, shoulder yokes with gentle gathers, a chic covered button placket, and fisheye darts for back definition. Use the short banded puff sleeves, or mix and match with the two sleeve options of the Vernon Shirt for even more looks. And last – but certainly not least! – choose from a dramatic full pussy bow, narrow necktie, or a chic and simple collar band.
The Swanton is rated intermediate because of the covered placket and collar, but it’s also suitable for confident beginners, especially when using our free video sewalong, hosted by Saremy of Sew Sew Live.

More from the Club this month
Do you often find that you need a different sized sleeve in a garment, but are unsure how to adjust the pattern, or find that classic bicep adjustments aren’t working well? This month I’m teaching you an alternative technique: grafting on sleeves of a different size. This approach works really well especially if you need to make larger changes – and you can even use it to transfer sleeves from different patterns!
Club masterclasses are one of the most popular parts of the Cashmerette Club, and they’re exclusive for Plus and All Access members, who get immediate access to the whole library of over 30 fitting video lessons.
In this month’s live event, join me for a chat with an extra-special guest: Claire Ayoub, writer and director of the award-winning new movie “Empire Waist,” which is all about how a plus size teenager finds confidence through sewing her own clothes. Yes, you read that correctly!! It’s an absolutely fabulous film, which made me weep for a solid 90 minutes in recognition and laughter and catharsis.
I am so excited to talk with Claire about how she came to be a first-time movie director, what inspired the story, and what impact she’s seeing it have on audiences. You won’t want to miss this one! (But if you do? No worries, it’ll be recorded :))
Being able to release patterns for garments that were previously unattainable (or super difficult to fit) for curvy sewists is one of my favorite things about running Cashmerette, so I hope you enjoy sewing and wearing the Swanton Blouse as much as I enjoyed bringing it to life! As always, please tag us so I can see what you make – use #SwantonBlouse and #CashmeretteClub so I can give you the kudos you deserve.
