Your Club Makes: 6 Wonderful Wexfords

This month’s Cashmerette Club pattern is the Wexford Top & Dress! Here are 6 Wexfords to get you inspired to sew your own.

From hot summer days to cold winter nights, the Wexford Top & Dress is the pattern you’ll want by your side! A swing-style top and dress with a roomy fit in the waist and hips, the Wexford features a scoop neck and includes three sleeve lengths (short, mid, or long) plus a sleeveless option with banded armholes. Sew yours up in a lightweight jersey to beat the summer heat or in a sweater knit to stay warm and cozy in fall and winter. This pattern comes in sizes 0-32 and cup sizes C-H and is available exclusively to Cashmerette Club members.

We know how helpful it can be to see a new pattern on different bodies, so we recruited 6 makers to sew up their version of the Wexford. Let’s take a look!

Sean’s Wexford

The Wexford is an instant classic for Sean! She made the sleeveless dress version with a cotton/poly knit with a fun 70s vibe.

Sean made a size 22 E/F and her measurements are 48″ high bust, 51″ full bust, 47″ waist, and 54″ hip.

Here’s what Sean had to say about her Wexford:

“The Wexford was so simple to throw together and it will be a staple in anyone’s casual summer wardrobe! I made the Wexford as a sleeveless dress because it’s getting super hot where I am, and I knew a soft knit tank dress would be so handy in the summer. It took longer to cut out the pattern than it did to actually sew the dress! Throwing this pattern in my rotation immediately!”

Sierra’s Wexford

Sierra made her sleeveless Wexford Dress out of a watercolor ITY from her stash. She made a size 26 G/H and her measurements are 50.5″ high bust, 56″ full bust, 46″ waist, and 56″ hips.

Here’s what Sierra shared with us about her Wexford:

“This is my new go-to summer dress. It is exactly what I look for in a summer pattern. I love how quick this comes together and fabric choice can make it look completely different. I can just throw this on and walk out the door feeling confident and comfortable. I also really like the pattern options and look forward to trying out a bunch of combos.”

Jamara’s Wexford

Jamara used a stable scuba knit for her sleeveless Wexford Dress. She made a size 8 C/D and her measurements are 35″ high bust, 36″ full bust, 28″ waist, and 37″ hip.

Jamara told us this about her Wexford:

“This pattern was super easy!!!! I loved it. The pattern itself and and the simplicity of it all. I usually hate sewing with knits but this was super doable and an easy one day project.”

Sofía’s Wexford

Sofía made a sleeveless Wexford Dress out of a thrifted tie dye knit and shortened it for an above-the-knee length. She made a size 14 G/H graded to a 12 in the waist and hips, and her measurements are 38″ high bust, 43″ full bust, 33″ waist, and 42″ hips.

Sofía told us this about her Wexford:

“What a fun and quick project! I love the versatility of the pattern too. I made the tank version for summer, and plan on making the long sleeve version for fall and winter.”

Emma’s Wexford

Emma made a long-sleeved Wexford Top with a fun nautical print on a stable jersey. She made a size 18 G/H and her measurements are 42″ high bust, 49″ full bust, 40″ waist, and 48″ hip.

Emma told us this about her Wexford:

“It’s a really satisfying and quick make, easy to whizz up on the overlocker. It has a fantastic fit, which you don’t get in standard t-shirt patterns. The G/H cup option really made a difference for me.”

Jess’s Wexford

Jess made a long-sleeved Wexford Tunic—a length somewhere in between the top and dress views! She used a lightweight viscose jersey with beautiful drape.

Jess made a size 2 E/F and her measurements are 31″ high bust, 35″ full bust, 26″ waist, and 36.5″ hip.

Jess shared this with us about her Wexford:

“I made a long top/short dress length between both views and used my overlocker for the project. It was a quick and easy sew and I’ll definitely be making a few more!”
