Free download: a new wide pocket for the Ames Jeans!

Download a free wide pocket pattern piece for the Ames Jeans, now available in sizes 12-32 in print and PDF!

The Ames Jeans are the ideal plus size jeans sewing pattern for curves, with two pelvis fit options (apple and pear) and two leg options (skinny and straight). Hold the style together with a mid rise and pocket stay for secret smooth shaping. We added new sizes to the Ames Jeans PDF last year, and now the printed pattern has gotten an update, too!

You can now get the Ames Jeans as a beautifully printed pattern that comes with sizes 12-32 and ships anywhere in the world.

Here at Cashmerette, we specialize in patterns for curvy makers. We know that as you go up the size range, your bum gets wider but not necessarily taller. That means that regular pockets can start to look like they’re too small for the bum surface area. If that’s true for you, our new wide pocket option is the ticket to a proportional back pocket for your me-made jeans.

Jenny is wearing the Ames Jeans in a size 22 graded to 18 at the hips with the apple pelvis fit and skinny legs, paired with the Auburn Blazer. Her measurements are 41″ waist and 47″ hips.

Rachel is wearing her Ames Jeans with a Dartmouth Top made in a gorgeous jersey generously gifted by our friends at Core Fabrics (it’s sold out but here’s a similar fabric).

The ideal plus size jeans pattern for curves

Make a date with denim in the classic and versatile Ames Jeans! The Ames are designed with your curves in mind and include two pelvis fits: apple and pear. Mix and match the pelvis fits with straight or skinny legs for your ideal pair of stretch denim jeans.

The Ames Jeans include all the features that you love in a pair of jeans, like rivets, belt loops and a fly front. A pocket stay provides comfortable secret smooth shaping. If it’s your first time sewing a pair of Ames Jeans, check out this blog post to learn how to pick your pelvis fit, and this video tutorial on how to sew a fly front.

Thank you so much! I think this will be flattering. I have the paper copy of the Ames Jeans pattern and I have been studying up on jeans making before I attempt to sew my first pair of jeans; but I am close to making my toile! I am grateful I have the Cashmerette’s well written instructions to lead me through my first pair of jeans soon! Cashmerette patterns are my favorite and fit me the best out of any pattern on the market. Thank you for producing quality patterns for us!

Let me know what you think!
