Meet the Alton Blouse

The Alton is a floaty blouse that features:

  • A faced keyhole neckline that can be worn open or tied
  • Straight sleeves or striking pleated long sleeves that end in an elastic cuff
  • Bust darts and side seam shaping, ideal for curves
  • Relaxed fit in the waist for comfort all day long

The Alton is rated advanced beginner but is sure to be an enjoyable make for sewists of all skill levels.

What’s even better? The Alton Blouse is completely compatible with the Montrose Top, which means you can mix and match the neckline and sleeves of the Alton and Montrose for even more options!

The Alton works best with light- to mid-weight drapey fabrics like silk, voile, and lawn.

Jenny’s Alton was made with hand-dyed double ikat generously gifted by our friends at Core Fabrics. (Get it here.)

Vashti’s Alton was made with a cotton swiss dot from Mood, while Carrie’s floral Alton was made with cotton lawn from Blackbird Fabrics.

Also New in the Club this Month: Masterclass & Live Event

Club members in the Plus and All Access tiers get a new fitting masterclass every month! This month, Jenny’s diving into darts. There’s so much you can do with darts: split them up, rotate them around, or eliminate them entirely! You don’t need to feel pinned to the wall when it comes to darts—as always in sewing, you can mix things up and make it your way.

Plus and All Access members also get access to this month’s live event. This month, Jenny is joined by our pattern development lead Jen for a behind-the-scenes look at how our patterns are created. Head to the Club dashboard to learn more and register to attend. Can’t make it live? This event will be recorded and shared with members afterward.

And Plus and All Access members also get access to a bonus virtual happy hour on Wednesday, May 11th! Head to the Club dashboard to learn more.

We can’t wait to see what you make with this pattern! Join Cashmerette Club today to download the Alton Blouse and get started sewing instantly.
