Welcome to Day 4 of the Roseclair Sewalong. We’re on the home-stretch and if you’ve finished assembling the voluminous skirt from View A, you might be especially glad to hear that!

Today, we’ll bring it all together by attaching the bodice to the skirt. Remember, keep handling that bodice with care, as we don’t want to distort the neckline before we finish it off tomorrow!

Attach the Bodice (All Views)

Pin the bodice to the skirt right sides together, matching all notches. Make sure those waist ties are still pinned out of your way as you sew and finish the waist seam.

Finish your seam allowances and press them down.

Finish the Vertical Edges (All Views)

Depending on the view you make, your long vertical edge may be longer or shorter than our photos, but the process is the same.

Simply fold the long raw edge of the dress over by 1/4″, press and repeat to enclosed the raw edge.

Topstitch this edge from the right side and voilà, we’re finished sewing for today!

Tomorrow, we’ll bind our neckline, hem our dress, and get to twirling in the sunshine!
