Fabric Ideas for the Saybrook Tank

The Saybrook Tank sewing pattern is making all our knit tank dreams come true! This new pattern comes in sizes 12-32 and cup sizes C-H, which means you can get a great bust fit without a hint of bra peeking out.

For this pattern, we recommend light- to mid-weight knits with at least 25% stretch crosswise, such as rayon jersey, bamboo rib knit, or ITY, with at least 5% spandex to have good recovery on the bindings. The Saybrook doesn’t require a lot of yardage, which means you likely already have a knit in your stash that you can whip up into a tank. But if you don’t, or if you’re looking for something extra special, you’re in the right place! We’ve rounded up our favorite Saybrook-worthy fabrics available right now for convenient at-home online shopping.

If you’re looking for even more Saybrook fabric inspiration, check out this post to see what several makers created with fabric from Stonemountain & Daughter Fabrics. Plus, you can save 15% on all fabric in the Stonemountain shop (excluding sale items) through Saturday, September 12, 2020 with code CASHMERETTE15.

We love a good rib knit for the Saybrook, and this particular one comes in a variety of deep shades. We love it so much, we used the yellow colorway for our cover sample!

The Saybrook works well in soft and neutral tones, too. Pair your Saybrook with a pair of wide-leg Calder Pants for the ultimate transitional look.

Saybrook + stripes = match made in heaven. We used a fabulous striped rib knit for one of our cover samples that is unfortunately sold out at the moment, but thankfully you can find some great striped knits almost anywhere you shop.
