Introducing the Cashmerette Fuller Cardigan!

Our first pattern release of 2020 is here, and it’s about to make all your dreams come true: introducing the Fuller Cardigan, the first ever cardigan from Cashmerette, and it has raglan sleeves! The Fuller is the layering piece your closet has been craving, and it’s our first printed pattern available in sizes 12-32.

Fuller Cardigan plus size cardigan sewing pattern

With two complementary views, the Fuller Cardigan completes any outfit: View A featured a deep v-neck and longer line to pair with jeans or trousers, and View B is cropped to your natural waist to layer over dresses or high-waisted pants. With a button placket that allows the Fuller to be worn closed or open, what more could you want from a cardigan pattern?

Since day one, you’ve been asking for raglan sleeves, and we’re thrilled to bring them to you at last. Our thoughtful design makes this notoriously tricky-to-fit design element fit flawlessly over curves, and the sleeves are available in standard and full bicep. The Fuller Cardigan comes with our signature multi-cup sizes (C/D, E/F, G/H) and is available in sizes 12-32 in both print and PDF—our first printed pattern in our new size range!

Andrea measures 46” bust, 41” waist, 46” hip and wears View A in a size 16 G/H graded to a 20 in the waist and 16 in the hips.

Jenny measures 48” bust, 40” waist, 47” hip and wears View B in a size 18 G/H graded to a 20 in the waist.

About the Fuller Cardigan

With its two different but complimentary views, the Fuller Cardigan is the ideal layering piece, perfect for everyday wear and special occasions. We love View A in a ponte worn over a silk Springfield Top and trousers for the office, or in a sweater knit worn over a Concord T-Shirt and Ames Jeans for running errands. View B looks stunning in a medium-weight jersey worn over high-waisted pants or in a stretch sequin fabric over an Upton Dress.

Here’s a video of Jenny where you can see the Fuller Cardigan in action:

Both views of the Fuller feature bust and shoulder darts for impeccable fit over curves. Interfaced facings give structure to the neckline and the raglan sleeves (available in standard and full bicep) are finished with cuffs.

Now let’s take a closer look at each of the Fuller’s two views.

Go Classic with the Fuller Cardigan, View A

What could be better than a closet full of Fullers? View A of the Fuller has a classic cardigan look, with a deep v-neck and a wide button band. The hem hits at mid-hip and is finished with beautiful mitered corners. Raglan sleeves with shoulder darts are finished with wide cuffs.

Andrea is wearing View A in a wool jersey.

Go a Retro with the Fuller Cardigan, View B

Take your wardrobe a bit retro with View B! Its cropped length creates waist definition and looks fabulous over fit-and-flare dress and high-waisted pants. View B features a high neck, narrow button band with delicate buttons, and a narrow hem band. Raglan sleeves with shoulder darts are finished with narrow cuffs.

This view is also easy to hack into a raglan sweater—stay tuned for a tutorial!

Jenny is wearing View B in a poly spandex sweater knit layered over an Upton Dress. A petticoat has been added underneath for extra fullness.

Great for Color Blocking and Print Mixing!

One of the fun things about raglan sleeves is that they make for great color blocking. Turn your Fuller Cardigan into a great statement piece by pairing bold prints—we had a great time picking out prints to pair together for this sample that Ayelet is wearing.

Ayelet measures 41” bust, 32” waist, 42” hip and wears View A in a size 12 E/F in a light wool knit.

I am so excited Jenny. This is beautiful. I love how the bust dart makes the cardigan sit so nicely across the chest creating a slimming effect. Will be a huge learning curve creating with fabrics for a classic cardi look. Cant wait.

  4. Just my kind of cardigan. Many of these will show up in my wardrobe cause it’s everything I want in a cardigan!

Any plans to make this pattern available in the 0-16 size? I really want to make this but your size chart says I should use an 8 G.

Hi Maryam, We’re not planning to update the size range of the Fuller in the near future, but we have a new cardigan pattern coming soon!
