New Year, New Size Range!

A new year is here, and we are thrilled to announce that we’re kicking it off with a new and improved size range: 12-32 in Cashmerette’s signature multi-cup sizes from C-H!

Going forward, we’ll launch all of our new patterns in this size range in both print and PDF, and we will re-launch all our existing patterns as quickly as we can, starting with two today: the Montrose Top (PDF) and the Turner Dress (PDF). We wanted to get these to you as quickly as possible, so they’re launching first in PDF, and we will be printing them in the new size range when they come up for reprinting.

Our mission is and has always been to make high-quality sewing patterns designed specifically for curves, and we hope that this improvement to our size range allows even more curvy women to have access to sewing patterns that fit right out of the package. And we’re continuing to work on sizing, so stay connected to learn more about future plans!

When we selected our original size range way back in the early days of Cashmerette, we always knew that there was room for improvement. Over the last year, we’ve been actively working on expanding that range and are thrilled to start to release patterns in the new size range and share with you the details of that process. We hope this post answers all of your questions about this new size range, but if there’s anything we left out, feel free to drop your questions in the comments at the bottom of this page.

And to celebrate the new size range, we’re having a sale on our Montrose Top kits—keep reading to learn more!

Which Cashmerette Patterns Will Be Available in the 12-32 Size Range?

Eventually, all of them, in both print and PDF! As we mentioned, all new patterns (starting with our first 2020 release in a few weeks!!) will be released in sizes 12-32 in print and PDF. And we’ll be re-launching all our existing patterns as quickly as we’re able.

Which Cashmerette Patterns Are Available NOW in the 12-32 Size Range?

We’re thrilled that the Montrose Top PDF pattern and Turner Dress PDF pattern are now available our the new size range! These are two of the most popular and most requested patterns in our collection. The Montrose Top is a closet workhorse, perfect for everyday, office, or special occasion (guipure lace, anyone?) and is ripe for hacking. The Turner Dress is equally versatile and is so deliciously comfortable, plus it has a flared skirt that accommodates up to a size 40 hip. Both patterns are perfect for beginners and great for trying out the new size range in your fabric type of choice (woven for the Montrose and knit for the Turner).

Which of our existing patterns would you like to see available in our improved size range next? We’d love to hear your preferences so let us know in the comments below.

What if I’ve Already Bought That Pattern—Will I Get the Updated Version with the New Size Range?

You sure will! If you have previously purchased a PDF copy of the Montrose Top or the Turner Dress directly from us, you’ll receive the updated pattern automatically to your inbox. If you purchased a printed copy directly from us, you can email us at hello@cashmerette.com with your order number and we’ll send you the updated PDF files. If you purchased a printed or PDF copy from a different retailer, you can send us a photo of your receipt or proof of purchase to hello@cashmerette.com to receive the updated PDF files.

Will the New Size Range Be Available in PDF and Print?

Eventually yes! Due to the way we currently operate and supply printed patterns to customers, wholesalers and distributors, we have to keep large quantities of printed patterns on hand. However, as patterns come up for reprinting, we will be be printing them in the improved size range.

How Do I Pick My Size in the New Size Range?

If all of your measurements previously fit in our 12-28 size range, you can keep using the same size or combination of sizes you used previously. If not, here is our expanded sizing chart:

Cashmerette new size range

As you’ll notice, the bust measurement now goes up to a 60-62” in (152-157 cm), the waist now goes up to 52” (132 cm), and the hip now goes up to 62” (157 cm). Many of our garments have positive ease in the hips, and can accommodate sizes even beyond 32.

I Need Help Selecting My Size. What Should I Do?

In the ideal world, all of our measurements would fit neatly into a single size. But that’s often not the case, and we have to select a combination of sizes and grade between then. If you’re not sure what size you should use, here’s what we recommend:

  1. Start with our guide to choosing your size
  2. If you need to grade between sizes, we’ve got tutorials for every type of pattern here.
  3. Still not sure which size to choose? Send us a note with your full bust, waist, and hip measurements to hello@cashmerette.com and we’ll be happy to help you out!

Thank you so much for increasing the sizing! I’ve tried to size up a bit myself but as a novice never quite got the fit right. Also so excited to try out more patterns I haven’t purchased because upsizing seemed too hard with them. I don’t know what to suggest as the next one to update, looking through the patterns, I just want everything! Haha. Maybe one of the ones with button up fronts, no one wants gaping buttons. Or the Upton, it’s such a huge staple in my wardrobe. Thanks again 🙂

  2. Diane says:

Thank you for upgrading the side range, I’m an odd shape and have a 60″ hip so this is very welcome. I would love a smart pair of trousers now in your new size range!

I’m curvy in hips but smaller on top. How about adding A/B cup sizes for those like me?

    Thanks for the new sizes.

I’d like to request a wider range if cup sizes, maybe to. J or K. I love seeing, but hate having to do an FBA every time.
