Introducing Cashmerette Fit Clinic: personal fit advice everyone can learn from.

Cashmerette Fit Clinic

Our mission at Cashmerette is to help curvy women feel amazingly confident in garments that look and feel great – and the secret to achieving that is fantastic fit. That’s why we’re introducing a new initiative, the Cashmerette Fit Clinic!

There is a world of difference between a garment that pinches or pulls, is a smidge off at the shoulders, or hits a curve at the wrong point, compared to clothing that skims and hugs in the right places, is proportioned well for your body and is comfortable to move around in. However, it isn’t always easy to figure out how to achieve that! With our Cashmerette Patterns range, I try to help you get as close as possible straight out of the packet, because the patterns are designed for a curvy figure, with in-built adjustments like cup sizes, a sway back, forward shoulders and a tilted waist. And, we have lots of blog posts on fitting, a “Why Doesn’t it Fit?!” checklist, and the Fitting for Curves online workshop and eBook. However, sometimes that’s not quite enough to get you there.

One of my big “aha!”s from my Cashmerette Curvy Retreat Tour in Australia was realizing how helpful it is to get personalized feedback on why something isn’t working and get help to change it (it’s all fair and well to know what a narrow shoulder adjustment is, but how do you know if you need one?), but also to watch others get that feedback – we can learn so much from seeing other people’s adjustments.

So that’s why I decided to launch Cashmerette Fit Clinic, a new project to bring the power of personalized fit advice to the community!

Here’s how it works:

  • Apply to take part in Cashmerette Fit Clinic by filling out this online form. You’ll need to share details of your body measurements and garments, together with photos of the garment you want help with (these need to be clear photos of you wearing the garment, where it’s easy to see the seams and your fitting issues. Mirror selfies aren’t ideal for this – also because you have to twist to take them – but it also doesn’t need to be professional level!)
  • If you’re chosen, I’ll work with you one-on-one over email to help you diagnose the issues and fix them. You’ll make another muslin and we’ll see if it helped – if not, I’ll give more advice, and we’ll continue until you’re happy with the fit.
  • Once we cracked the fit, you’ll take some final photos of the finished garment
  • And then, I’ll write up the process and share it on the blog and social media.

While I won’t be able to help every single person, I’ll pick a cross section of fit issues to make sure everyone gets the most out of the project.
