Overall Winner
Our “best Washington Dress” award goes to Rachel F!
Rachel used a gorgeous dusty pink boiled wool (which she lined) for the skirt, and coordinating jerseys from our stockist Guthrie & Ghani, for a really sophisticated look. She said that she was able to make a size straight from the pattern with no alterations, and has discovered the magic of secret pyjamas!  Congratulations, Rachel!
Our runners up are:
Meg from Cookin’ and Craftin’ who put together a gorgeous Washington with pink and green tones.
Jennifer, who writes at the Curvy Sewing Collective, with a Van Gogh inspired yellow number, complete with pleather front yoke.
Best Hack
Many sewists are finding the Washington is super-hackable, and the best hack prize goes to Jessica of Always A Crafty Lady for her cat dress! Jessica added a half-circle skirt to the Washington bodice, and also used elastic to create a ruched sweetheart neckline for a classic skater-style look. Not only that, but Jessica also made another 4 hacked Washingtons, combining them with self-drafted and other patterns!
Check out Jessica’s Washingtons here, here and here
Our runners up also went on a hacking spree!
Gillian from Crafting A Rainbow combined the Washington bodice with the Tiramisu skirt and the Camino Cap skirt, and also played with a cute ruched neckline.
Major creativity points go to our other runner up, Elaine, who made her Washington into a blue crushed velvet top, a leopard print tunic, a split cowl-neck top, a lace-covered drop waist dress, AND a V-neck top!
Best Use of Fabric
And our final winner is Tanya Maile, for her amazing embroidered Washington! The use of this border print was the perfect match for the Washington skirt, and the way Tanya colour-blocked looks fantastic.
Our runners up are:
Nicole of ColesCreationsPatterns, for her trio of Washingtons including a super fun Christmas version – spot the Santas!
Debbie for her rainbow of 6 (yes 6!) Washington dresses – check them out here, here and here.
Thanks so much to everyone who entered, and I hope that it’s given you a bunch of inspiration for future Washingtons! Our winners will be getting their $50 gift certificates for Cashmerette Patterns in the (e)mail shortly. Which dress or hack is your favourite? Do you have any other inspired hacking ideas?

I think there are a bunch of super talented sewists out there in the world. Thanks to Jenny for the great pattern to work with! Thanks for including me in your roundup! Elaine
What a bunch of amazing Washington dresses! Elaine’s are stunning – I love the hacks – especially the tunic and split neck. Tanya is To.Die.For! and I think it was Jennifer’s pleather Washington’s that pushed her into the spot of my current girl crush! I hope you don’t mind Jennifer! g
Wow! What beautiful dresses! Congratulations to all winners! That embroidered one is my absolute favorite.
I just love the possibilities this pattern offers for combining fabrics, and I can’t wait to make another one (or two).
Congratulations to all the ladies, these are all so awsome, I like the idea of using elastic in the neckline, will give it a try.
would it be possible for you to please make a pattern for a wrap dress with a small collar and a relatively full skirt? thank you!
